Joseta Halbur has been selected as the 2004 Fond du Lac County Fairest of the Fair.
"I was pretty excited to be crowned Fond du Lac County Fairest of the Fair and have the opportunity to represent the Fond du Lac County Fair. I want to do my best at building the Fairest of the Fair program and to represent the Fair not only on the county level, but also on the state level, to let people know what we have here in Fond du Lac County," she said.
The daughter of Ray and Rae Nell Halbur of Fond du Lac, Joseta is currently a senior at University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Her future plans are to earn a bachelor of science degree in Agricultural Marketing Communications and a master's degree in Agricultural Communications. Her career goal is to be a 4-H Agent with the University of Wisconsin Extension.
Joseta is currently a member of the Association of Women in Agriculture, Falcon Dairy Club, and Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow, and is also involved in the County, State and National Holstein Association.
Joseta also serves as the exploring, cloverbud, and dairy leader for Taft 23 4-H Club. She enjoys showing cattle and working on the family farm. She likes to spend time with family and friends, and getting involved with school activities and volunteering with the Fond du Lac County 4-H program. She is currently employed on her family farm, Burledge Hosteins, Great Northern Land and Cattle Company and Oster Professional Products.
"Over the years, the Fair has given me responsibilities that are different than those in everyday life. It has helped me prepare for my career in UW Extension," Joseta said.
