New this year at the 157 th Fond du Lac County Fair will be the Butterfly House and the Trout Pond Fishing Derby.  Both of these family attractions are sure to please all ages.

The Butterfly House will feature two to four kinds of butterflies native to the Fond du Lac area.  Fairgoers are welcome to touch the butterflies, learn how to properly handle them, and collect them on their feeder sticks.  Sometimes butterflies mate, lay eggs or emerge wet-winged from their chrysalides to stretch and fly for the very first time.  It is very common to have a butterfly land on you.  There will also be an opportunity to have your photo taken while touring the Butterfly House.

The Trout Fishing Derby, being generously sponsored by Midwestern Shooters Supply, Inc. from Lomira will allow fairgoers the opportunity to catch either bluegill or trout in their large fishing pond.  Whatever you catch is yours.  This is an attraction sure to please the outdoorsman.
